Breath Coaching – BREATHLETICS   INSTITUTE

Do you have a breathing problem that cannot be addressed by a doctor?

The BREATHLETICS INSTITUTE, founded in 2014, is specialised in behavioural breathing problems and does not only help individuals and companies – but is also a training and further education provider for health professionals (psychologists, sports scientists, therapists and dentists).

BREATHELTICS is the only scientifically based form of Breath Coaching by the implementation of the applied breathing sciences.

BREATHLETICS Breathing therapy is a synonym here, which can only be performed by recognised medical professionals.

Which breathing problems can BREATHLETICS Breath Coaching solve?

  • Most behavioural breathing problems often also cause:
Headaches, neck and/or back pain, sleep problems, bruxism (teeth grinding), concentration problems, burn-out, behavioural coughing, sore throat, speech and language as well as emotional problems - associated with inner restlessness, fear, anger, sadness or panic. Compulsive and addictive behaviour can be stopped by BREATHLETICS.

  • Behavioural breathing problems can also trigger, accelerate and intensify ADD / ADHD and autism.

  • Breathing problems caused by Long COVID can be reduced by breath coaching.

  • An unsolved breathing problem can also set in motion further vicious circles connected with psychological and physical suffering – and as a result lead to further psycho-physiological problems.

Structure of the BREATHLETICS Breath Coaching

Step 1

You describe your breathing problem.

Step 2

Your breathing behaviour is analysed by the breathing coach in form of different perception exercises and a virtual breathing training.

Step 3

A breathing training programme is created that is suitable to your needs.

(The BREATHLETICS INSTITUT does not teach specific breathing techniques that should be applicable to everyone – but tailors an individual breath training programme for you).

Step 4

You train a new breathing behaviour alone and with the support of the coach –who adjusts your training until the breathing problem is solved.

Length of the coaching

The first session lasts 90 minutes and can already clarify many misunderstandings about wrong breathing behaviour – and can sometimes even completely solve the breathing problem during the first session.

However, you should consider a couple of sessions and take some time – in order to understand, learn and internalise the newly learned breathing behaviour and finally to be able to integrate it into your daily life.

Follow-up sessions usually last 30 - 60 minutes.

We can accomplish miracles together – but please consider how long you have been carrying around your breathing problem and the psychological and physical problems associated with it.

In principle, however, it can be assumed that help with bruxism (teeth grinding) takes the longest, about 20 - 30 sessions, and most other behavioural breathing problems require three to ten sessions.

Speech and language therapy – LANGUAGE CLINIC

Modern and contemporary speech therapy has an interdisciplinary scientific approach which combines the fields of linguistics, education, physiology, psychology, medicine and neuroscience.

The LANGUAGE CLINIC also expands this therapeutic approach to include the fields of breathing and behavioural sciences, cognitive behavioural therapy, elements of applied behavioural analysis, as well as literacy-based speech and language therapy – since reading, understanding, speaking and breathing form an inseparable unit. This closed unit has an influence on all human behaviour – and thus also on general health.

LANGUAGE CLINIC – Legal basis

The speech therapy of the LANGUAGE CLINIC is based on Polish law.

A speech therapist who is recognised in Poland, on a university master's level,

  • Speech and language problems in bilingualism and multilingualism

  • Presentation and test anxiety

  • Dyslalia - lisping and mispronunciation of sounds (S, R, L, K, G etc.)

  • Dysarthria - confusion, prolongation and/or deformation of speech sounds

  • Hoarseness / sore throat – caused by uneconomic posture and inefficient breathing when speaking

  • Logophobia - fear of speaking

Professional Profile

Michael Mischor

Michael Mischor (46) is a speech therapist and the creator of the BREATHLETICS method.

He has been working in the health sector for almost 20 years and has since been active therapeutically as well as educating and training health professionals – therapists, trainers, psychologists, sports scientists and dentists (American Dental Association).

Bild der Frau – the largest women's magazine in the German-speaking world – ranked Michael Mischor in 2016 among the top 20 health experts in Germany.

With a Master of Science in Applied Breathing Sciences he was the first graduated breathing behaviour analyst in Europe in 2015.

His professional career to become a speech therapist has also been unique and special.

Michael Mischor began his professional career as a fitness and personal Pilates trainer, held the rehabilitation sports licence of the DOSB (German Olympic Sports Confederation) from 2007 to 2019 and trained more than a dozen therapists and trainers during this time. Several stars as clients and some TV appearances (DW, RBB, RTL) also confirmed his success at that time.

Since 2015, he has been regularly requested as a breathing expert by various media for interviews and expert opinions.

The big subject of breathing also led the bilingual health expert in 2017 to the areas of speaking, languages and writing – which brought him to speech and neurological therapy in 2020, where he can combine all his acquired knowledge in the best possible way.

»I would very much like to serve you and your health  and share my acquired knowledge with you.

However, much more important than my long list of certifications and continuing education is that the theoretical knowledge I have gained has also been acquired live with personal experience – as a bilingual child up to an adult – so I can also speak from my own experience.«

Cordially,

Michael Mischor

Recommandations

»My daughter (15) had developed a speech and breathing disorder as a result of wearing a mask for a too long time at school. No doctor or therapist was able to help us for a few months - and as a mother and doctor myself, I started to worry. So I arranged a logopaedic consultation with Mr Mischor for my daughter (and myself for clarification).

Already after this first consultation, my fear was taken away from me and my daughter - and after a few hours, the problem was solved. THANK YOU!«

»Before I started working with you, I often had presentation fears, couldn't speak at all, stuttered - and these fears usually even ended in headaches. That is now history after your breath coaching and training with you. Amazing... Thank you!«

»As a multilingual Canadian (English/French) with a Chinese background, German is a particular challenge for me. German as a fourth language finally gave me the rest. I started making a lot of old mistakes - which had already caused me difficulties when I was at school. In addition, I have dyslexia which became even more visible. Michael was very good at helping me to coordinate all languages and motivating me to pass a language exam in German. I had a very instructive and humorous time with him. Thank you!«

»I am a multilingual (English, Hindi, Bengali) Indian and I find it very difficult to pronounce the German sounds correctly. However, as I am very ambitious and often take on a moderating role professionally - I wanted to improve my German pronunciation. Michael's mix of German training and literacy-based speech and language therapy is perfect for my needs.«

»I had breathing problems for years, an unexplained nervous cough and was always thinking about my breathing.

This caused sleeping problems at night, I couldn't lie on my back or do much physical activity. After the first breathing coaching session I was already able to run to the tube under time pressure, something I haven't been able to do for years without a coughing attack. After a few training sessions I understood and solved my breathing problems, which nobody could explain to me before. I cried from happiness!«

»To increase my performance and to be able to study longer and more intensively for my degree, I had drunk too much and far too strong coffee.

This amount of caffeine made my heart race so much that I was scared to death and subsequently visited several doctors. Until one doctor told me that my anxiety was a behavioural breathing problem. My mother then found BREATHLETICS for me and I travelled across Germany to Berlin for three weekends for breath coching.

After the third weekend, I had no more complaints.«

»During the first Covid Lockdown I had a lot of breathing problems and panic attacks. These panic attacks and fears of not getting enough oxygen drove me completely crazy. I consulted doctors and psychologists who unfortunately couldn't help me because I didn't have any pathological but behavioural breathing problems. I was not an easy case, but you helped me to get my breathing problems under control again.

Thank you, what would I have done without you.«

»I can perfectly combine BREATHLETICS with my nutrition coaching as a psychologist.«

»As a sports scientist, I find this knowledge about breathing and psychophysiology incredibly important. I found the knowledge you impart in the BREATHLETICS training enormously important - for everyone who works with people. No one can impart this knowledge like you!«

»BREATHLETICS has helped me personally as a dentist, my team and my patients to gain a new perspective on team building, problem solving, anxiety and pain."

"I would love only to offer BREATHLETICS in my dental practice. I am a fan.«
